Nightshift Cleaning Supervisor

Job Description
- Daily Operations & Staff Supervision
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of all cleaning staff (day shift, night shift, and Saturday teams), tea ladies, meeting room attendants, and recyclers.
- Confirm all staff are on site (weekdays and Saturdays); arrange reliever staff if any staff are absent.
- For night shift: the supervisor alone holds site access, must remain with the cleaning team at all times, and ensure no wandering.
- Schedule and assign tasks based on the daily scope of work provided and checked by Capitec Bank Coordinators.
- Submit attendance photos via the WhatsApp group as required.
- Quality & Standards Control
- Perform regular inspections of all areas including client zones, offices, bathrooms, kitchens, and ATM areas.
- Ensure cleaning tasks are completed to Capitec’s hygiene and presentation standards.
- Address and resolve cleaning issues promptly, including ad-hoc spills and client complaints.
- Inventory & Equipment Management
- Monitor and control cleaning stock levels including chemicals, consumables, and equipment.
- Ensure proper use, storage, and maintenance of cleaning machinery and PPE.
- Submit requisitions for supplies and report faulty equipment to Facilities.
- People Management
- Train new cleaning staff on cleaning procedures, safety protocols, chemical handling, equipment use, and company policies.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback for improvement.
- Enforce attendance, discipline, grooming/uniform standards, and name badge display.
- Manage a pool of trained relief staff to prevent service delivery disruptions.
- Health, Safety & Compliance
- Enforce health and safety protocols, chemical handling procedures, and Capitec’s security requirements.
- Ensure all staff have signed Fixed Term Contracts and are registered on payroll before commencing work.
- Maintain cleaning records, checklists, and incident reports for audit purposes.
- Stakeholder Liaison
- Act as the point of contact between cleaning staff and branch management.
- Coordinate with Facilities and Security teams for after-hours access and maintenance support.
- Provide feedback and recommendations to improve cleaning efficiency and client experience.
Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12 certificate required 2–3 years’ experience in a cleaning supervision or facilities role, preferably in a corporate or retail banking environment.
- Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and cleaning best practices.
- Basic computer literacy for reporting and scheduling.
- Valid South African ID and clean criminal record.
